IBM Smarter Datacenter opens in Canada

TORONTO, ONTARIO and Barrie, Ontario September 21, 2012 - IBM (NYSE: IBM), in collaboration with the governments of Canada and Ontario and the City of Barrie today unveiled one of the most advanced computer facilities in the nation: IBM Canadian Leadership Data Center. The center based in Barrie, Ontario, was designed from the outset with the latest advances in the management of energy efficiency in the data center, business continuity, resilience, security services and disaster recovery disaster for help organizations to effectively manage growth and reduce costs and mitigate risks firmly.

The data center represents an investment of US $ 90 million and IBM will create 20 skilled jobs in Barrie, as part of the $ 175 million IBM invested and 145 jobs created through the launch in April 2012 network of IBM Research and Business Development. Over time, the new data center will provide the infrastructure and key personnel to help research and development initiatives underway related to support this network. IBM financing is supported by the government of the previous investment of $ 15 million for these initiatives in Ontario."Canadian organizations are seeking more strategic to increase operational efficiency and position themselves for sustainable growth forms," said John Lutz, president of IBM Canada. "We continue to invest in intelligent infrastructure in Canada because businesses can not afford downtime with current economic pressures. This new facility provides a flexible base anchored in best practices so we can deliver basic services to help organizations and partners better manage data, lower operational costs, improve productivity and gain competitive advantage. "
Fifty percent of Canadian organizations recently surveyed reported that providing sufficient space for data center and ensure the availability required to meet the demands of customer service are some of its biggest challenges. * This is especially important for high availability industries like financial services, government and retail. However, organizations typically spend about 70 percent of their IT budgets just to keep existing settings. In parallel, IDC estimates that the amount of information managed by enterprises will grow 50 times over the next decade, with the number of associated servers installed by organizations increasing by 49 percent over the next two years. **Large organizations are taking steps to address these problems. In a survey of 300 IT leaders from IBM, 21 percent of organizations who ran efficient data centers were able to spend 50 percent more on new projects and innovation to make their organizations more successful.
The highly efficient, modular center is specially designed for a set of metrics global best practices that demonstrate improved productivity and effectiveness in space, energy and data management These attributes will help organizations adapt existing processes and infrastructure or profitable to invest more effectively support business growth and mitigate the risk of costly system failures.
For example, the center will provide synchronous replication of data with another center that is 100 km. This means that organizations that rely on critical 24/7 systems can locate their primary IT operations in one center and establish a data recovery center enough to reduce the risk of a geographic disaster impacting both sites, but close enough to ensure operational or customer data is always available. The new facility will offer 25,000 square feet of initial capacity with the ability to grow to 100,000 square feet. IBM has designed and delivered more than 1,000 similar modular data centers for customers around the world. The modular data center design uses small increments of standardized components to meet business needs with IT requirements and only add data center capacity when needed. Modular centers can be developed in half the time of a traditional data center to easily accommodate growing demand. They help customers save up to 30 percent per year in energy costs compared to traditional centers.
This new addition to the existing network of 17 data centers in Canada strengthens IBM $ 75 million investment by the company in Markham and data centers based in Montreal in 2011.

The Managed Cloud Hosting

A service file Managed Cloud Hosting, storage service in the Managed Cloud Hosting storage provider files online, or cyberlocker is an Internet Managed Cloud Hosting service specifically designed to hold the user's files. It allows users to download files that could then access the Internet from another computer,
tablet, smartphone or other network device by the user or perhaps by other users, then provide a password or other authentication. Generally, the services allow HTTP access, and sometimes FTP access. Related services are displaying content Managed Cloud Hosting services (eg, video and image), virtual storage and remote backup.
Storage of personal files
More information: Comparison of file Managed Cloud Hosting services

Personal file storage services for individuals, offering a kind of "network storage" for personal backup, file access or distributing files. Users can upload files and share them publicly or to the keep protected by password.

The document exchange services allow users to share files and collaborate on documents. These files initially targeted services such as PDF, word processing documents and spreadsheet files. However, many services now remote file storage are designed to enable users to share and sychronize all types of files on any device they use.

Synchronization and current sharing services

Synchronization services and file sharing are file services that allow users to create special folders in each of their computers or mobile devices accommodations, then the service synchronizes if it seems to be the same folder regardless of what equipment is used to view it. The files in this folder are also often accessible through a Web and mobile applications site, and can be easily shared with other users for viewing or collaboration.

These services have become popular with consumer products such as Dropbox and Google Drive.

Caching of content

Content providers potentially encounter bandwidth congestion problems can use the services specialized in distributing cached or static content. This applies to companies with a significant presence on the Internet.

Storage costs

Some of the online file storage services offer space on a per gigabyte, and sometimes include a component of the cost of bandwidth as well. Usually these are payable monthly or annually; for example, Carbonite. Some companies offer the service for free, relying on advertising revenue. [Citation needed] Some Managed Cloud Hosting services do not put limits on the amount of space it can use the account of the user. Some services require a software download which makes files available only on computers that have installed the software, others allow users to retrieve files through a Web browser. With webmail service inbox increase in available space, many users have begun to use their webmail service as an online unit. Some sites offer free unlimited file storage but have a limit on the file size. Some sites offer additional storage capacity online in exchange for new client references.

With one click of accommodation

With one click Managed Cloud Hosting, sometimes called cyberlocker generally describes Web services that allow users to easily download one or more files from your hard drive (or from a remote location) with one click Managed Cloud Hosting free server.

Most of these services simply return a URL that you can give to other people, then you can retrieve the file later. In many cases, these URLs are predictable potential for abuse of these service. As 2005 sites have dramatically increased in popularity, and then a large number of smaller and less effective failed sites. Although a single click can be used for many purposes such Managed Cloud Hosting file sharing has, to some extent, we will compete with P2P file sharing services.

The sites make money through advertising or collection of premium services such as increased discharge capacity, elimination of restrictions states that the site can prolong or how long the files are downloaded from the site. Premium service facilities, including the maximum upload speed unlimited download, no waiting, etc. Many of these sites CAPTCHA effort to prevent automatic download. Several programs help in downloading files from these hosts to a single click; Examples are JDownloader, Sonda.me, and Tucan Manager CryptLoad.

What is a Hybrid Cloud Servers?

A hybrid cloud is a cloud service that uses private and public clouds built to perform various functions within the same organization. All cloud services should offer some effectiveness to varying degrees but public cloud services are likely to be more profitable and scalable private clouds.
Therefore, an organization can maximize its efficiency by using public cloud services for all sensitive operations depend not only on a private cloud if necessary and ensure that all platforms are integrated seamlessly.

Hybrid cloud models can be implemented in a number of ways:
  • Separate equipment cloud providers to provide both public and private services as an integrated service
  • Individual cloud providers offer a full hybrid package
  • Organizations that manage their own private clouds to enroll in a public cloud service then incorporated into its infrastructure

In practice, a company could develop hybrid cloud hosting work to host your eCommerce site in a private cloud, where it is safe and scalable, but his website brochure in a public cloud, where it is more profitable (and security is less of a concern). Alternatively an infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offering, for example, could follow the model of the hybrid cloud and provide financial activity with the storage customer data within a private cloud, but to enable collaboration in project planning documents in the public cloud - where it can be accessed by multiple users from one convenient location.

A hybrid cloud configuration, hybrid such as accommodation, may offer its users the following features:

  • Scalability; while private clouds offer a certain level of scalability in terms of their settings (if you are organized internally or externally, for example), public cloud services offer scalability with fewer limits, because the resources derived from the largest infrastructure cloud. Moving the more functions that can not be sensitive to the public cloud, which allows an organization to benefit from the scalability of the public cloud, while reducing demand in a private cloud.
  • Costs income; new public clouds are likely to offer greater economies of scale (eg centralized management), and thus higher returns, than private clouds. Therefore, hybrid clouds allow organizations to access these savings for many business functions as possible while maintaining secure sensitive operations.
  • Security; the part of private cloud hybrid cloud model not only provides security, where it is necessary for sensitive operations, but can also meet regulatory requirements for data handling and storage where applicable
  • Flexibility; the availability of resources both secure and scalable economic effective public resources can provide more opportunities to explore various business organizations tracks

The Cloud Proxy server

In computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application) that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting a service, such as a file,
connection, web page, or other resource available on a different server and the proxy server evaluates the request as a way to simplify and control its complexity. The representation were invented to add structure and encapsulation for distributed systems.Currently, most Web proxies are proxy, providing access to content on the World Wide Web and provide anonymity.

Representation types

A proxy server can reside on the user's local computer or at various points between computer and destination servers of Internet users.
  • A proxy server that forwards requests and replies unmodified is usually called a proxy gateway or sometimes tunneling.
  • A proxy is a proxy oriented Internet to recover a wide range of sources (in most cases, anywhere on the Internet) to the front.
  • A reverse proxy is typically an Internet-facing proxy used as a front end to control and protect access to a server on a private network. A reverse proxy is alaso commonly performed tasks such as load balancing, authentication, decryption or caching.

Reverse proxies

An Internet connection proxy server to an internal network.
A reverse proxy taking applications over the Internet and sent to the server on an internal network. These applications connect to the proxy and may be unaware of the internal network.
Main article: Reverse Proxy

A reverse proxy (or surrogate) is a proxy server appears to clients to be a common server. Applications are sent to one or more proxy servers that processed the request. The response from the proxy server returns as if it came directly from the proxy server, which allows the client does not know the origin servers. Reverse proxies are installed in the neighborhood of one or more web servers. All Internet traffic with a destination of one of the district's Web servers through the proxy server. The use of "reverse" his counterpart comes "forward proxy" reverse proxy is closer to the web server and is used only a limited set of sites. There are many reasons for installing reverse proxy servers:

Acceleration / SSL Encryption: when certain websites are created, SSL encryption is often done by the Web server itself, but by a reverse proxy that is equipped with SSL acceleration hardware. See Secure Sockets Layer. In addition, a host can provide a unique "SSL proxy" to provide SSL encryption for an arbitrary number of hosts eliminating the need for an SSL certificate separately for each host server, with the disadvantage that all hosts behind the proxy SSL must share a common DNS name or IP address for SSL connections. This problem can be partially solved by using the function of SubjectAltName X.509 certificates.
Load balancing: the reverse proxy can distribute the load across multiple Web servers, each Web server uses its own application domain. In such a case, the reverse proxy may have to rewrite the URLs for each site (translation externally known URLs for internal locations).
Serve / cache static content: A reverse proxy can download static content web servers storing images and other content as static graphics.
Compression: the proxy server can optimize and compress content for faster loading times.
Spoon feeding: reduces resource usage caused by slow clients on Web servers storing the contents of the Web server sent and gradually "spoon feeding" for the customer. This benefits especially dynamically generated pages.
Security: the proxy server is an additional layer of defense and can protect against certain specific OS and Web server attacks. However, it provides no protection against attacks on the web application or service itself, which is generally regarded as the greatest danger.
Editorial Extranet: a reverse proxy server from the Internet can be used to communicate with a server internal security organization, providing extranet access to certain functions, keeping the servers behind the firewall. When used in this manner, security measures should be considered to protect the rest of your infrastructure if that server is compromised, your web application is vulnerable to attacks from the Internet.

The Virtual private server hosting

A virtual private server (VPS) is a virtual machine that is sold as a service for Internet hosting service.
A VPS runs its own copy of an operating system, customers have access at the root for this instance of the operating system, so they can install almost any software that runs on this system exploitation. For many applications that are functionally equivalent to a dedicated physical server, being defined by software and are able to be more easily created and configured. They are priced much lower than equivalent physical server, but since they share the underlying hardware with another VPS, performance may be lower and may depend on the workload of the other instances on the same hardware node.

 Virtualization

The driving force behind server virtualization is similar to that which led to the development of time-sharing and multiprogramming in the past. Although resources are still divided, as in the model time-sharing, virtualization provides a higher level of security, depending on the type of virtualization used, the individual virtual servers are mostly isolated from each other and can manage its own system full operation can be rebooted independently as a virtual instance.Partition of a single server to appear as multiple servers has been increasingly common in personal computers since the release of VMware ESX Server 2001. The physical server typically a hypervisor is responsible for creating runs, release and management resources "guest" operating systems or virtual machines. These guest operating systems are for a share of the resources of the physical servers, usually in a way in which the customer is not aware of any other physical resources except those assigned to it by the hypervisor. As a VPS runs its own copy of its operating system, customers have access to the root of this instance of the operating system and can install almost any software that runs on the operating system, but because of the number of clients typically run virtualization on a single machine, a VPS generally has little processor time, RAM and disk space. [1]Although VMware and Hyper-V virtualization internal corporate dominate, it is less common for providers of VPS, mainly because of the costs and limitations - which usually use products like OpenVZ, Virtuozzo, Xen or KVM.

Accommodation

Main article: Comparison of virtualization software platformMany companies offer virtual hosting virtual private server or dedicated server hosting as an extension of the web hosting services. There are many challenges to consider licensing of proprietary software in virtual environments with multiple tenants. With accommodation unmanaged or self-managed, the customer is allowed to manage their own server instance.Unlimited hosting is usually offered with no limit on the amount of data transferred through a fixed broadband line. Usually hosting unlimited [2] it is 10 Mbit / s, 100 Mbit / s or 1000 Mbit / s (with some up to 10 Gbit / s). This means that the customer is theoretically able to use ~ 3.33 TB of 10 Mbit / s, 33 ~ TB 100 Mbit / s ~ 333 TB in a line of 1,000 Mbit / s per month (although in practice the values will be significantly less). In a virtual private server, bandwidth is shared (should) say it is not a fair usage policy involved. Unlimited hosting is also commonly marketed but generally limited by the policies and conditions of use of acceptable service. It offers unlimited and wide band gap are still incorrect because of the cost, support capabilities and technological limits.Cloud serversMain article: Cloud computingA VPS is dynamic (ie, that can be modified at runtime) is often considered a cloud server. Key attributes of this are: [3]

Additional resources can be added to hardware performance (CPU, RAM)

Server can be moved to other material while the server is running (automatically according to the load in some cases)Digital Ocean invented drops is a key to its virtual private servers term. Essentially a visible mass of water droplets suspended in the atmosphere above the surface of the earth is a cloud. [4] This definition of short-term weather serves a verbal image drops ocean is a digital key in the digital cloud.

Cloud Web Hosting Services

Cloud computing allows the application software to be operated using Internet-enabled devices. Clouds can be classified as public, private and hybrid.
A web hosting service is a type of internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web.
Web hosts are companies that provide space on its own server or leased for use by customers and Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and internet connectivity to other servers in their data center, called roommate, also known as housing in Latin America or in France.
The scope of web hosting services varies widely. The most basic is web page hosting and small scale file, where files can be uploaded via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or a Web interface. The files are usually delivered to the Web "as is" or with minimal processing. Many Internet service providers (ISPs) offer this service free to subscribers. Individuals and organizations can also obtain Web page hosting alternative service providers. Personal web hosting sites is usually free, ad-sponsored, or inexpensive. Business web hosting often has a higher expense, depending on the size and type of site.
Single page hosting is generally sufficient for personal web pages. A complex site calls for a more comprehensive package that provides support platforms and the development of database applications (eg PHP, Java, Ruby on Rails, ColdFusion or ASP.NET). These facilities allow the customers to write or install scripts for applications like forums and content management. Additionally, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is generally used for e-commerce.
The host may also provide an interface panel or management control of the Web server and installing scripts as well as other modules and service applications like e-mail. Some hosts specialize in certain software or services (eg e-commerce), which are commonly used by large companies to outsource network infrastructure.

Web Hosting with HostGator is a Houston-based

HostGator is to provide a shared, reseller, virtual private server based in Houston, and dedicated web hosting with additional presence in Austin, Texas.

History

Founded in 2002 by Brent Oxley HostGator, who was then a student at Florida Atlantic University. In 2006, HostGator has passed the 200,000 recorded in the zones.
In 2007, the company moved from its original office in Boca Raton, Florida, in the new office building of 20,000 square feet in Houston, Texas.

In 2008, HostGator company ranked No. 21 in the magazine in the US and # 1 in the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown, Texas, in the list of fastest growing companies. In the same year, I decided to make Hostgator Hosting their green credentials by working with an integrated service market ecosystem services. Also in 2008, HostGator strong competition varies companies themselves to provide hosting services "unlimited" prepared. He was the founder Brent Oxley,
emphasizing the ability to save a copy of the "unlimited" option before providing the service named as such and to increase the number of employees.
He stressed that the movement increased its sales by at least 30%.

2010 saw the addition of another office Hostgator - this time in Austin, Texas

In 2011, the operations in India and HostGator Hostgator.in through the establishment of offices and support data center. Headquarters India is located in Nashik, Maharashtra.

At June 21, 2012, CEO and founder Brent Oxley announced the impending sale Endurance International Group dedicated and knowledgeable staff and users do not have to worry about in part because Oxley still own the buildings used Hostgator. He said he wants to travel the world before having children. He was also frank about the inability to create a stable bills and coins deposited HostGator, and expressed the hope of endurance can fix these characteristics.

On 26 August 2013, HostGator has been one of the first companies to successfully relieve blacklisted IP. Using a large number of IP gateways for e-mail addresses on almost every host in the world, was blacklisted and on multiple networks. From 2013, HostGator hosts over 9,000,000 domains.

Définition What is hybrid cloud united state

Hybrid Cloud is a cloud computing environment that uses a mix of onsite, private cloud and public services cloud orchestration between the two platforms. To allow workloads to move between private and public clouds, and the needs and IT costs are changing, hybrid cloud offers companies greater flexibility and deployment options data.
For example, a business may implement a private cloud on-site to host sensitive or critical workloads, but the use of a third party provider such as Google Compute Engine public cloud hosting less critical, such as loading resources testing and development work. To maintain customer facing and backing up data files,
a hybrid cloud could also use the Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3). A layer of software, such as eucalyptus, private cloud can facilitate connections to public clouds such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Hybrid cloud is especially useful for dynamic loads or rapidly changing work. For example, an entry system transaction orders that are experiencing significant demand peaks around the holiday season is a good candidate hybrid cloud. The application can work in the private cloud, but the cloud burst use to access additional computing resources from a public cloud computer when peak demand. To connect the private and public cloud resources, this model requires a hybrid cloud environment.

Otherwise, use the hybrid cloud is the large data processing. One company, for example, could use the hybrid cloud storage to preserve their accumulated business, sales, testing and other data, then execute analytic queries in the public cloud that can scale to support the demanding tasks of distributed computing.
The flexibility and scalability of the public cloud eliminates the need for a business to make massive to accommodate short-term peaks in demand investments. Supplies of public cloud computing providers resources, and the company pays only for the resources they consume.
Despite its advantages, the hybrid cloud may present technical, commercial and management challenges. Workloads private cloud need to access and interact with providers of public cloud, hybrid cloud therefore requires the compatibility of the API and robust network connectivity.
For the cloud hybrid of public cloud connectivity problems possible violations of the SLA and other interruptions in the public cloud service possible. To mitigate these risks, organizations can work loads hybrid architect interacting with various public cloud providers. However, this may complicate the design and testing workload. In some cases, the workload scheduled for the hybrid cloud must be redesigned to meet specific API providers.
Management tools such as Egenera PAN Manager cover, RightScale Cloud Management Platform and Enterprise Cloud Management Scalr help companies manage workflow creation, service catalogs, billing and other tasks related to the hybrid cloud.

Platform Google Cloud for Mobile solutions

With over a billion people are using smart phones and tablets in their daily lives, and there is a great opportunity and the growing demand for mobile solutions. Users can choose from hundreds of thousands of applications, and for mobile developers to succeed, it is important to create a compelling,
engaging user experiences and connected. This usually requires the need for basic components or services to drive demand relevant data, and to ensure the payment of hazards, and allow interactions between users, and more.

With the Google Cloud operating system, you can easily build a backend for solving mobile. You can start small and hope to get a large number of users or may already be a broad base of customers who want to start service with a new mobile experience. In both cases, you can put the bottom that is evolving to meet the growing demand. By leveraging Google's infrastructure, you can focus on implementing your application scenarios and not have to worry about things like management systems or load balancing.

Requirements

Typical conditions to achieve a compelling mobile solution include:
  • Support for Android and iOS native applications across devices
  • The information storage and retrieval and data processing outside the portable devices
  • Push notification orchestrated for Android devices and iOS
  • Knowledge of geography and geographic proximity Find
  • user authentication
  • high scalability

The main role assigned in the background of the code

Approach to building the background as set out in this document allows you to focus on your core development scenarios. You have two main tasks is to define the resources your domain specific and implementation of custom logic required for specific operations on those resources. Customers your mobile phone service will be able to access these resources and call these processes by your API that can easily be exposed to those who own your mobile backend as described below.
Background mobile some resources can recover without foreign service stored in your application. But usually mobile solution you have at least some of the resources that are managed and continued as part of the solution.
For example, if you create an application that includes review, you can set the critics one of your resources. If the application allows mobile shopping, you can include comments of products in stock. If your application lists the movies, you can include movie reviews. If you are in a casual game you can set CompletedPlay entity with attributes such as notes, date, user ID, and more.
You can then select operations on these resources, such as the inclusion of a new review, as well as note the benefit of their views, sort recover their reviews note of the interest or the best grades recovery for one day.
Will depend on your own scenario and requirements, and the implementation of such transactions and custom code is not always trivial. Can your code as you do many things in addition to the simultaneous manipulation of simple API requests from customers. You can do research or to pay the dangers basic treatment, based on geographic proximity, which is possible when the mobile cloud background running Google operating system. As a result, you can focus on writing code specific to your application, not the infrastructure code.

Cloud database technology

Cloud database is a database, which usually runs on the cloud computing platform, such as Amazon EC2, GoGrid, Salesforce.com, Rackspace, Microsoft Azure. There are two joint deployment models: Users can run databases on the cloud independently, using the image of the virtual machine, or they can buy access to the database service, which is maintained by the cloud database provider. Databases available on the cloud, and some are and some SQL-based model using NoSQL data.

There are two main ways to run the database on the cloud:

Virtual image - cloud computing platforms machines allow users to buy virtual machine instances for a limited period. It is possible to operate a database of these virtual machines. Users can either upload their own picture of the machine with a database installed on it, or use the images of ready-made machines, which already includes the optimum installation of a database. For example, Oracle provides a ready-made device images with Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition installation on Amazon EC2  and Microsoft Azure.

Database as a service (DBaaS) - Some cloud computing platforms offer options to use a database as a service without physically start the virtual machine instance to a database. In this configuration, the application and the owners do not have to install and maintain the database of its own. Instead, the SQL Server database takes responsibility for the installation and maintenance of the database and the application owners pay according to use.
For example, Amazon Web provides three database services as part of the cloud offerings, SimpleDB, a NoSQL key value store, Amazon Relational Database Service, and basic data services with SQL interface cell DynamoDB. Similarly, Microsoft is offering a basic data service SQL Azure as part of a presentation by the cloud.

The third option enables the database on the cloud hosting, where they are not providing the database as a service, but the SQL database cloud hosting the database and manages on behalf of the applicant. For example, provide a hosting provider Rackspace Managed Cloud cell dedicated to  and cloud architectures  and NoSQL MongoDB databases by rocket object managed service. Similarly, Azure, and Amazon Web Services,  MongoLab MongoDB provides as-a-service.

Architecture and common features

Most databases Services Unit provides Web control, the end user can be used to provide and configure the database instances. For example, the unity of the Amazon Web Services Web allows users to run instances of the database, and create snapshots (backup-style) database, and monitoring of the database statistics.

Services component database consists of data, which controls the cases the underlying database using API service base manager. The suffering of the API service to the end user, and allows users to perform maintenance and expand their database instances. For example, API service relational Amazon database can create the database and modify the resources available to the instance of database instance, and delete the example database, create a snapshot (similar to a backup) from a database, and restore the data from the base plate .

Databases make the underlying software stack transparent to the user services - and the package usually includes the operating system, databases and third-party software is used to manage the database. Service Provider (eg MongoLab or ObjectRocket) is responsible for the installation, restoration and modernization of the basic software stack and ensure the health and overall performance of the database.

Database services take care of scalability and high availability of the database. Scalability characteristics differ between providers - to provide some cars peels, while others allow the user to expand the use of API, but do not automatically adapt. And usually there is a commitment on the level of high availability (for example, 99.9% or 99.99%).
